French Grey was founded in 2006 by Sally Marks, born from a long-standing love of interiors and the belief that our homes should reflect how we truly live.

I created French Grey to curate pieces that feel considered, characterful and easy to live with - whether that's something timeless and neutral, or a piece that brings colour, personality and joy into a space.

Our approach

I've always believed the best homes are layered and personal.

At French Grey, our collections balance classic design with more trend-led finds. Alongside natural materials, soft textures and calming tones, you'll also find playful colour, modern shapes and pieces that feel current and uplifting.

I don't follow trends for the sake of it, but I do love introducing fresh ideas that sit beautifully alongside more timeless favourites.

Living and working in the Cotswolds shapes everything I do.

The landscape, the slower pace of life and the character of old stone buildings all influence the way I curate our collections. That sense of warmth and authenticity sits at the heart of French Grey — always balanced with a love of evolving interiors and modern living.

My aim is simple: to help you create a home that feels welcoming, relaxed and full of personality.

French Grey is proudly founded and run by women, and remains a small independent business with three beloved stores in the Cotswolds.
